caring for children

"I have received school supplies, bicycles, and pajamas for my children...for us, the Center is a big family...
I really appreciate what you have done for us.” - M.R., Ossining

1 in 10 children in Westchester lives in poverty. Our relationships with families has taught us that the best way to help those in financial crisis is to first meet the needs of their children, because as families struggle to make ends meet, children bear the brunt. Families report reduced stress and greater peace of mind when their children have their needs met.

In 2022 we:

  • Provided for over 400 babies by offering diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food to their families.

  • Supported 1,800 local children with brand-new school supplies.

  • 100 high school seniors attended their Senior Proms in style with beautiful donated formal wear.

  • Awarded 21 students with scholarships to support their continued education to achieve their academic goals.

  • Kept 1,500 children warm during the winter with new pajamas, hats and gloves.
