HEALTH & WELLNESS

Fact: one in five residents in Westchester County is food insecure. According to the USDA's definition,
food-insecure families do not have "access at all times to enough food for active, healthy living."

By providing monthly supplemental food, the Community Center of Northern Westchester helped to fill this gap for over 3,000 families in more than 38 Northern Westchester communities during 2023.

The Center strives to improve the physical and mental health of our neighbors by providing access to free health screenings and education, nutritious foods, outdoor activities, and a variety of health resources.

In 2022:

  • Flu shots for over 100 individuals given by NWH Community Health Team
  • Provided 345 individuals access to COVID vaccines and tests
  • Access to free eye exams and eyeglasses in partnership with LensCrafters
  • Nutrition counseling to support individuals
  • Family hiking programs with Lewisboro Land Trust
  • 27 children attended sleep away or local summer camps
